RESPONSIBILITIES
- 5+ years of experience in Data Science. Previous experience working on Data Science topics in Operations / Supply Chain is a plus.
- Programming: proficient in at least one of R, Python, SQL with the ability and willingness to learn the other two.
- Data Literacy: ability to prepare datasets ensuring top quality such that essence of said data and the implications for the problem at hand can be grasped quickly.
- Technical Literacy: applied understanding of modern computing allows the candidate to do things which go beyond the strict definition of Data Science (git, API calls, web crawling, …).
- Statistical Reasoning: applied understanding of Stats and Probability and know how to use these tools to reduce uncertainty in a business context (regression, visualisation).
- Presentation Skills: present coherent data stories at the appropriate level of abstraction given the audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a data engineering role.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- Strong Partnership and Collaboration Skills: You have a proven ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Given the international nature of this role, strong experience collaborating directly with data analysts and data scientists across different regions and sports is essential for success.
- Expert-Level Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of modern data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and data warehousing principles.
- Proven GCP Expertise: Significant hands-on experience building and deploying data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Deep proficiency with BigQuery is essential.
- A Proactive, Responsible and Positive Mindset: A track record of taking ownership of complex technical projects and seeing them through to successful completion. - Partners and vendors: Experience in dealing with sourcing partners, vendors and suppliers, and involvement in multi-stream, complex activities across several external partner teams, tracking success and progress via engineering metrics such as Velocity, Burndown, Capacity Mgmt, Planning and Engineering Forecasting.
- Governance and Policies: Experience in data science and data engineering governance, policies and oversight.
- Bonus Points for: Experience with data transformation tools, especially dbt, workflow management tools like Dagster, Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.

- Masters or Doctorate in relevant field, for instance: Mathematics, Statistics, Science (including data, behavioural, social, econ, ...)
- Good command of English, both spoken and written. German a plus
