Deine Aufgaben:
- Betreuung des bestehenden ERP-Systems samt angrenzender Systemlandschaft
- Leitung und Koordination von ERP-Projekten, wie Prozessoptimierung, Anpassungen, Neuentwicklungen, Systemtests und Rollouts
- Beratung der Fachabteilungen
- Analyse und Behebung von Fehlern, sowie Anwendersupport
- Durchführung von Anwenderschulungen und Erstellung technischer Dokumentationen
- Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Fachbereichen zur Optimierung interner ERP-Prozesse
- Kommunikation und Koordination mit internen und externen Ansprechpartnern

Your future responsibilities
- Acquisition of R&D projects for IC-Design, focusing on Sensorics, RF and mm-wave communication, radar applications and similar
- Acquisition of industrial partners (with a special focus on Start-ups and SMEs) and non-industrial partners (academic institutions, research centres) partners for innovative IC-Design project collaborations
- Defining a clear business strategy, leveraging unique SAL’s value proposition to attract customers, expand the customer base and find new markets
- Co-developing and shaping the service offering and the research strategy with both Engineering and Research teams, providing insights into current trends and expected industry developments, identifying opportunities and challenges
- Key-account management for premium partners, developing service quotations for clients and managing and of an efficient and agile customer database
- Liaising with the Marketing / PR and Engineering departments on the creation of marketing campaigns and related material, press releases and social media communication channels
- Representing SAL at events (both internal and external), organising and attending conferences, meetings and industry events

As a Senior IBM i RPG Software Engineer, you are a key technical contributor responsible for developing, maintaining, and modernising our IBM i applications. You work closely with Product Owners and international development teams and actively help evolve modern development practices within a stable IBM i environment.
Core Backend RPG Development (40%): You design, develop, test, and maintain IBM i applications using RPG Free-Format and ILE RPG, focusing on stable and efficient backend business logic. High‑Performance DB2 / SQL Development (20%): You develop and optimise embedded SQL, stored procedures, and database access layers on DB2 for i, ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity. Structured Technical Analysis & Solution Design (15%): You analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into clear, maintainable technical specifications and solution designs. Robust API & Integration Development (10%): You design and implement REST APIs and web services to integrate IBM i systems with internal and external platforms. User‑Focused Display File Development (5%): You develop and maintain DSPF display files and support modernisation initiatives within the IBM i environment. Quality‑Driven Code & Modern Tooling Practices (5%): You apply modern development standards including Git-based version control, IDE-driven development (e.g. VS Code), and structured code reviews. Collaborative Knowledge Sharing & Mentoring (5%): You document technical solutions, share best practices within the team, and support the onboarding and development of colleagues.
